Critical Thinking Techniques for Counterdrug Operations
Course Description: This course will introduce students to the core elements of critical thinking and structured analytic techniques distilled from decades of research in neuroscience and psychology of intelligence analysis. Course curriculum is drawn from U.S. Army intelligence analysis doctrine, the CIA’s Center for the Study of Intelligence, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Following the course, students will be able to identify and describe elements and standards of thought, intellectual traits necessary for critical thinking, logical fallacies, and biases. Students will also be able to select appropriate structured analytic techniques to solve analytic problems, and will have resources to drive further professional self-development in critical thinking.
